Women whose cancer returns are sometimes candidates for exploratory surgery for further aggressive tumor debulking .
Postoperative therapy varies and may include intravenous chemotherapy , intra-abdominal chemotherapy or whole-abdomen radiation therapy . In most cases treatment is only palliative .
Numerous combinations of chemotherapy have been used with some benefit, including various combinations and doses of cisplatin + Taxol , cyclophosphamide , hexamethylmelamine , 5 -fluorouracil, ifosfamide and cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin , carboplatin and melphalan .
